Any tips to deal with a stuck seatbelt on a 172...?
Hello guys, as the title says....
what is the mechanism behind? Why is it the seat belt sometimes got stuck at a position, and won't pull out any further?

Special VFR question
Hello all, got a question about SVFR. In the AIM, it says SVFR applies within a control zone. When it says control zone, does it also include controlled airspace? Or just the vicinity of the airport? E.g. I requested SVFR to depart from a class C controlled airport, while on route in a controlled ai...

Passive noise reduction headset + earplugs, will it work?
Hello all, as the title says, is it going to block off too much noise that will end up having trouble hearing the radio? I don't want to turn up the radio unit volume, as I worry it will be too loud for other passengers. So just wanna know if passive noise reduction headset + earplugs will give resu...

Is the aircraft in a nose down attitude during spin?
From textbook pictures to online youtube videos, it looks like an aircraft is in a nose down attitude during a spin.
But why the plane cannot break the stall, and gain airspeed if this is the case?

Anyone getting bad GPS accuracy on their iPad (foreflight) recently..?
I have started using an iPad with foreflight since my CPL training. Even without an external GPS, I kept getting excellent GPS accuracy (4-6M). Recently, the gps accuracy has decreased a lot, sometimes it can get as high as 40m. I still fly in the same area (west of the GTA) with the same aircraft t...

Doing float rating in Ontario, where to stay?
Hello all, I am planning to do the float rating in this Spring. I will probably do the 50 hour program at Georgian Bay Airways. I am from the GTA, and it doesn't sound very practical to drive to the seaport every time... For those of you who have done the float rating in that area, do you guys rent ...

Re: Quick question, who to contact when flying to Windsor CYQG?
What’s your mission? Are you transiting Detroit’s bravo airspace on an IFR plan, going VFR to Windsor? We contact 134.3 off of YQG IFR and it’s the same frequency for those getting VFR flight following or requesting to enter the bravo. Basically 134.3 should do it for ya. Source: I’m based at YQG. ...

Quick question, who to contact when flying to Windsor CYQG?
I don't have the paper VNC anymore, so I am using the digital map on Foreflight. On the map, it says "Windsor Class C Airspace Contact Detroit Approach CTL on 126.85" However, when I look at PRO in the CFS, it says when operating over canadian territory within Detroit TCA, contact Detroit approach 1...

Re: "Uncontrolled" Control Zone? (CYZR)
I have the same confusion as OP. What makes CYZR (Sarnia) so special that it deserves its own class E control zone? It doesn't have a tower, and it has ATF only. If we look at another airport, such as CYGD (Goderich), it doesn't have a tower, and also has ATF only, but it doesn't have a control zone...

Re: Is this The End of the Pilot Career
Interesting... So a pilot with 250hours fresh out of flight school can be captain right away...?
How do new pilots gain experience when the first officer position is not required to operate an aircraft?

WAAS GPS question
I am looking to purchase an external GPS for my iPad, and I am debating between Sentry ADS-B and Bad Elf Pro+. I know both of them are equipped with a WAAS GPS. But is it true the Bad Elf Pro+ has a higher-end WAAS GPS than the Sentry? If yes, does it translate to better signal capture at high altit...

Thank you guys, You guys are really helpful! However, the more I study, the more I get confused it seems lol...now I have another question... Re: IFR flight test tablet requirments?
Approaches for training purposes are limited, due to airspace congestion in some places (like within 100nm of YYZ). You have to book a slot with the traffic management unit at Pearson and get a flow number before you can file an IFR training flight plan. Obvopiously there’s no restriction for an ac...

Re: IFR flight test tablet requirments?
Thank you for all the advises guys. I finally got my rating!
I have another question though. Anyone know what a flow number is for?
I remember I was told to obtain one when I did my IFR cross country with my instructor.

IFR flight test tablet requirments?
When I first started my IFR training last year, I remember I was told that an external battery (power bank) and paper copy of the approach plates and charts are required on board the aircraft if I plan to use my iPad for the flight test. Now my flight test is fast approaching, I briefly read over th...
