Payment when in regional or main line airlines
I aspire to become a pilot and I have some questions that I can’t find a specific answer about. The questions is when you eventually make it to regional airlines and or the main line do they pay for your type rating or do you do. Say you get hired to air canada jazz. Do they pay for a q400 p or erj type rating for you, do you have to sign something agreeing to pay them back or do you have to pay for it.

The bigger carriers Encore, Jazz, Porter will pay for your type ratings, but smaller carriers such as Wasaya, Bearskin, Perimeter will bond you for 1-1.5 years from bonds ranging from 10k to 15k depending on which 704 or 705 machines you fly.

Surprisingly, there’s no bond for metros in Perimeter... they just pay you a lot less lolcanadianpilot101 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 2:10 pm The bigger carriers Encore, Jazz, Porter will pay for your type ratings, but smaller carriers such as Wasaya, Bearskin, Perimeter will bond you for 1-1.5 years from bonds ranging from 10k to 15k depending on which 704 or 705 machines you fly.
