Post by fonzy »

I am currently taking the ICS course and have been working on a aircraft at our local museum with 2 License AME's can some of the stuff we are doing be signed off by them in my book even thought the Aircraft is no longer flying? Does it have to ne under a AMO or just signed off by the AME ? Thanks

The tasks are to be signed out by an AME, no AMO required for certain types/tasks.

However, the aircraft have to be civil registered, the work on those museum aircraft do not count. Great experience though!

I too did some volunteer work at a local Museum when I was in AME School. Good experience for Sheet Metal on an Avenger... alas did not count as the aircraft wasn't civil registered.

Have fun regardless!

Yeah its been a great experience ! I am only working on our Dehavilland Tracker " Tanker 501" Former NAO unit . The run ups have been amazing and those big radials sound so good! Ok well back to the job hunt i guess . Its so hard as nobody wants to hire someone unless they have 2 to 3 years experince

Just saw an ad posted for Apprentices for Calm Air in YTH.

There are the odd Apprentice postings on here if you look.
