Seeing as traffic has gotten much much busier in the states lately, are people still thinking this will take somewhere in the realm of 5 years to recover from in terms of passenger levels? It seems there's been a lot of doom and gloom about pax levels but in my opinion when travel opens up here again, there will be a hell of a lot of people that want to take vacations and importantly, have the cash to take vacations. I'm encouraged by whats happening south of the border and I bet by next summer we'll be real busy again. Maybe not quite 2019 levels, but certainly on the right track.

all depends on what the chief government medical guru tells trudeau what to do. not looking so good for now, the whole vaccine rollout and herd immunity notion that the medical types keep pushing is going slowly to nowhere.

it is going to take a very long time until canada is open again.

as for the super rich with hundred million dollar bizjets are concerned, well.........that's a whole different story.

Good news??
Well, turns out the Ever Given’s pilot wasn’t an Egyptian female after all.
Il hamdiilah hallah! How much better does the news get than that?
She was sailing along, in Alexandria at the time.

Good news?

I'm just tootin' my own horn here, but I just flew my first solo cross country. I'm proud to say that my speed and heading calculations in the morning, for an afternoon flight, were almost exact. My fuel burn calculations were accurate to within 5lbs, which is easily attributable to gallavanting around a somewhat unfamiliar airport, looking for the runway, taking some time to lay out a circuit, and a missed approach.

I'm counting it as a win.

The Air Transat deal is dead. Great news for me and 4300 other Air Canada pilots. And especially 600 furloughed pilots.

That's good news.

Delta is using the middle row again.

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/03/31/busi ... index.html

Flew on Delta yesterday out of ATL and the airport was busier than pre-covid. The plane I was on had every seat full. No one cared and it seemed like any other pre-covid flight. Even had two snacks.

Delta was the last remaining U.S. airline to hold out keeping the middle seat blocked.

#1 vaccination booked for tomorrow! My holidays will happen. Soon enough, I can get back into an airplane with an unwashed whippersnapper.
