Article 21.
Joking aside, the movement is eye opening.

Congraz, when is you PIT course if you don’t mind sharing.
Wondering if they are sending offers for Nov classes now.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Congrats Jester123. What is your experience? Degree? Any past flight training?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Lads and ladies!
Need to ask for your input..
Got a call from Jazz for DEC starting November
Got promoted to training captain at me regional turboprop 705 shop this week
Should have training captain experience and 500 + hrs 705 pic time with a TT of around 2500hrs and 1400 two crew turboprop time by Jan.
What do I do?!
Defer Jazz to gamble an OTS hire? Or take it and run?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
With that experience, I would hold off on Jazz as you should definitely get an interview with AC. If they turn you down, which is unlikely since they’re hiring people with less time and experience than you, then you could take the DEC position at Jazz. Jazz will be hiring DECs for the next year at least. I think there’s still 120+ vacancies while they only hire 20-30 people a month, of which most are FOs.Jetlifer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 3:49 pm Lads and ladies!

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Chill and wait OTS if your goal is AC; Jazz and AC's relationship is unpredicatable. The opportunities with the 20-30 year olds nowadays is insane. 2500 hours 10-15 years ago, you'd be lucky to be Captain on a Navajo let alone a 705 turboprop.Jetlifer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 3:49 pm Lads and ladies!

The DEC is not a guarantee. Very few candidates have made it through.Jetlifer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 3:49 pm Lads and ladies!

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Crazy how low the experience level goes when there's an "actual Pilot shortage"!..lol (pardon my shock as I'm one of thousands that have suffered through the "perpetual annual Pilot shortage scenario" for like...ever!) Kinda like the very early 70's when AC hired 250 hour F/O's to fly the DC9Jetlifer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 3:49 pm Lads and ladies!

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
anyone else hear anything? I know people that interviewed end of Sept and got a call this week for a Nov 21 start. they said in the interview you'd hear back 6-8 weeks if successful. Are they taking Jazz applicants again?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Any truth to the rumour that people with both Jazz and AC applications are getting PFOd to push them through Jazz?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I can't see how that would be legal. Jazz giving private application data to AC? Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. We have very strict privacy laws in Canada which I doubt Jazz would be willing to break. And there's no way AC would know if you've applied at Jazz, they are seperate companies. More likely than not just some imaginative person who's mad only Jazz is calling them not AC and wants someone to blame.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Years ago they used to snoop through your attendance record at Jazz too. That is a fact. Not sure if that is done now or not. I believe someone found out their PFO was due to that and sued AC.negroni wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 4:26 pm I can't see how that would be legal. Jazz giving private application data to AC? What's your fact? Because all I've ever heard was rumors about this. This would be a major privacy violation, I can't see it.Inverted2 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 8:48 pmYears ago they used to snoop through your attendance record at Jazz too. That is a fact. The guy it happened to told me. It was well over 15 years ago now. I’m sure some things have changed since then.negroni wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 8:52 amWhat's your fact? Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Perhaps back when AC owned Jazz fully. I'm pretty confident in guessing that since AC sold them off none of those shenanigans happen anymore.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
That’s a very common reference question for any job. I can’t speak for anyone else but I myself would answer honestly.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I know. Don’t have any dog in this fight personally. Just what I have heard.
I also heard they could check your training records from Jazz. Doubt that is true because they hired some who failed many PPC over the years.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
For the first PML, I remember correctly, the only info that was shared between Jazz and AC was your training and attendance records.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Under the old LOU18 they had access to your training and attendance records. That LOU has been gone for about 15 years now.

How long are people waiting from application to call for interview?
