Part-time Pilot Position

Post by hsilgnepilot »

Being non unionized, does Porter offer any sort of part time pilot positions? Preferably in the left seat of the Q400 to those with an already valid type rating?

There are part time positions at porter. At least it’s written in the “contract” or “FOAG”. Not sure the status or how many pilots are part time. Possibly a good question to ask during an interview?

I would be careful asking about that in an interview. Companies generally don't like it. Although I don't know about Porter specifically.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

You’d think but I know for a fact they’ve turned down some even with E1 type rating.
