Fantastic! YWG pilots will get proper representation and the MEC can move forward with confidence knowing the last direct link to Flt Ops has been severed.

Onwards and upwards!

A base with 1.2% of the membership should never have had 20% of the Executive representation. And clearly it’s representative was more than happy to take advantage of that flaw. Congrats to the YWG pilots for giving him the appropriate send off.

Having said that, the AC MEC would be fully within ALPA guidelines to pass a motion to consolidate that council. It’s existence is an insult to the YVR/YYZ/YUL bases where nearly 99% of the AC pilots want their voices heard.

Winnipeg has doubled their representation under ALPA. 50 Pilots with the same say on the MEC as the 1300+ pilots in YVR!

Both a CA & FO rep is inappropriate for 50 guys. I guess there's always roll call voting if pressed.

Can’t say I’m familiar with the process, is this binding or could he ride out the term?
He is out of office effective immediately.

I think he gets to finish the rest of his term. I heard he’s not back online.

No he was removed effective immediately.

Vice Chair has become the Chair. Sec/Treas now also Vice Chair.

Captain representative position vacant, meeting was to be held August 30 to hold an election for Interim Captain Status Representative.

It's worth noting that he's still off on full flight release. He was officially out on Aug 10, and other than a recurrent sim, he's yet to return to the line. In the mean time the interim reps have struggled to secure any sort of flight release to conduct their duties. Displacements have to go through KOB, the same KOB currently chairing negotiations for the company... Perhaps he's a little miffed that his inside man/company shill was unceremoniously dumped.

There was a nomination meeting on Aug 30th to elect the new interim CA rep. Apparently RW was going to show up and try to sneak back in. So 1/3 of the base turned out to keep it from happening!
