Wear your goddamn lanyard!

Post by IKEA_Monkey »

Do YOU want a World Class Contract? Or are you going to roll over for every company ask?!

We need to grow a collective pair and make it abundantly clear to the corp that we aren't going to take their shit anymore. Show support for our UNION by wearing your RED World Class Contract lanyard, and rub their face in it!!

If you're a clip on guy, check your damn ego and WEAR THE LANYARD. If you still haven't received a red one, get off your ass and go find one!!

At this point the only people wearing the original AC lanyards are COWARDS, DRAFT WHORES, and COMPANY SHILLS. They were invisible before, not so much now!

100%! Everyone should be wearing them after that email. They’re terrified of the unity. Did you see some of our lanyards/bag tags at WestJet during negots? ‘World Class Contract’ is nothing but respectful.
What is the MEC’s response to this? Hopefully they’ve made a rebuttal and told everyone to keep wearing with pride.

Hold the line. They are getting triggered by the unity.

This Memo is about controlling the message and testing resolve. These lanyards were released by YOUR union for YOUR use. You were given them to
wear.

You need to choose the message you send.

This is a crossroads moment. Many tests will follow. Make your choice. If that choice is to move forward.....then act as a unified entity.....and....

HOLD THE LINE.

Out of curiosity, why are you on this site? It's an aviation forum primarily for pilots. What's the point of coming on here without sharing any common interests, purely to comment with the intent of pointlessly antagonizing the members, and wishing us actual misfortune?

Honest question.

Dan, you beat me to it.....great question. I've asked them before......crickets.

Beeker, are you and (Anderoid)Dr. Bunsen Hunnydew a little bored? I see your very prolific with your posts as you're actively posting on multiple threads. If it's without a goal or purpose, it seems a collosal waste of your time.

Can you answer DanWEC's question?

He either has a personal interest, or he gets a kick out of being a troll.

I’m now leaning to the latter.

Whichever it is, he is not going away and he is enjoying this.

Don’t feed the troll might be the best response

Aren't you the same person who pretended to sound like you knew what you were talking about in the WJ forums about our contract and ended up being proven wrong in almost every possible sense?

I have nothing to do with the union. ZERO.

I am however an advocate for our rights and have an "elevated" sense of where we've been and how we've been treated over the last two decades.

I can see your anger towards the corp as being somewhat justified but anger towards your MEC that you elected is your own fault, not the corps or the public’s.

Not our fault you couldn’t elect a group to act in your interest. That’s on you and your peers.

Wow, truer words have never been spoken.

Add to that, if you were complacent, absent or otherwise supported those initiatives to further enshrine the arrogant and power hungry people which populated the MEC for decades(*), then you have no right to complain - about anything.

(*) Constitutional changes such as the "Oath of Office" or the Recall thresholds as just two examples, there are so many more.

One member one vote and at that, we sucked. For me it was embarrassing to be a member of ACPA.

Let's hope we have learned something.

You and I are on the same page but I have to agree with accountant on this one.

This one, while not on you or me personally, is squarely on us, collectively.

Just once, I hope I can feel somewhat proud of my association and the members that make that up. Just once in my 30 something years here.

Just once.

Therein lays my crux

Crickets, nothin.

I recall the first two (maybe three) surveys beginning with questions regarding whether I "trust" the MEC, along with the direction of the MEC.

Seemed (very) premature to me. I indicated exactly that in my responses, zeros. I followed that up directly with the MEC.

Why should I trust this MEC? What have they done differently? Other than a few free PUB nights? Couple memos?

Yes I helped elect you, yes I fully supported our transition to ALPA and yes, thank god we were able to flush our disgusting ACPA constitution down the shitter.

To my MEC;

It's time to stop acting pretty much the same as our old ACPA MEC (in many regards). You have an engaged and angry membership. Use that rare energy. Please be fearless. Do something different than ACPA, be different, be better.

Be leaders, be something we can all proudly follow.

Isn't it basic statistics to ask these questions to get a baseline to track trends?

Maybe. Time will tell. Im standing by, motivated, angry (controlled anger), and waiting.

Ive seen the train wreck movie too many times, I know it all too well. Just saying it looks familiar.

The time for basic statistics and baselines are long over for me.

I want a real and substantive redirect from my MEC. Otherwise, meh, ACPA with the ALPA logo.
