I’m 100% behind you guys. I have 0% trust in this corrupt government though. I haven’t forgotten what they did to our freedoms from 2020-2022. That’s all.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
I don’t think Singh would survive another back to work situation, that would be the final nail in his political coffin, however that being said, it appears he will do what he needs to do to get to February, otherwise no pension for him.
I honestly don’t believe they have the same level of justification to order AC pilots back to work, I think everyone can agree, CN and CPKC shutting down at the same time is what the problem was.
I sure hope Mac08 is not one of the pigs at the trough doing VO this weekend, just saying!

+100.
Don’t trust a word they say.
Whatever you get won’t be handed to you easily, thats a safe bet.
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
This is the first time CN and CP had a work stoppage at the same time but it's not the first time they were legislated/forced back to work. Almost every single time it's happened they have been forced back.cdnavater wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:27 amI don’t think Singh would survive another back to work situation, that would be the final nail in his political coffin, however that being said, it appears he will do what he needs to do to get to February, otherwise no pension for him.

I agree that it's a bigger deal for them to be down at the same time, the only difference with only one of them out, would just be how long. They would have been forced just the same.

I am 50/50 if the government will force the pilot group back to work. I sure hope not but I don't trust them. The big question is if there is back to work legislation whether it will be respected by the union or if the strike will go on regardless of the orders similar to the education works a few years ago. A strike is the only way I see world class gains being made, not through binding arbitration or the courts where AC will probably be compared to WJ.

I call you out for signing a garbage 17 year deal, pushing another garbage deal, neither improving the industry and you assume I’m working VO? How about sharing some names guys? Or are you too chicken $hit to "out" each other properly.
Better yet, start your own damn thread where we have the option to "not care about your petty squabbles" by not clicking on it.

If you think someone who’s living flatpay at it’s finest and calling out others for degrading this industry with garbage 17 year contracts is working VO I’ll say the same, time to get the medical revoked or retire. I’m quite looking forward to the “increase” in pay on strike.RippleRock wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 4:43 pmMac08 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 3:16 pmI call you out for signing a garbage 17 year deal, pushing another garbage deal, neither improving the industry and you assume I’m working VO? I hate this industry... a crappy profession filled with crappy arrogant a$$holes who lack the ability to understand the history of how we got here, with no empathy, and took jobs knowing full well what the conditions of employment were, but yet want to blame those in it 20 years before they were even riding a bike for their lot in life...Mac08 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:46 pmIf you think someone who’s living flatpay at it’s finest and calling out others for degrading this industry with garbage 17 year contracts is working VO I’ll say the same, time to get the medical revoked or retire. So according to your logic I shouldn’t blame ACPA for the mess they’ve created because I was apparently “riding my bike”. I should be thankful that I’m making flatpay. I am 2 generations from being a boomer. But the industry was what it was before you entered it, and you did so knowing full well what it was. Blame only yourself, and then work to make it better for those that come after. But sitting around being angry at those that came before is stupid and pointless. The past is the past. Forward is the future.Mac08 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:59 pmSo according to your logic I shouldn’t blame ACPA for the mess they’ve created because I was apparently “riding my bike”. I’ll actually agree with that and thankful that majority realize the time is now to improve. No more justifying why they did it, just that now is world class contract time.truedude wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 10:05 pmI am 2 generations from being a boomer. Except then you have cdnavater still trying to justify why he signed and pushed the worst 17 year contract and another garbage deal the MEC didn’t even recommend so he can clear 200k. Maybe Jazz can strike next and make real gains… oh wait.
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
But he doesn't owe you an explanation or justification. You aren't him, nor in his shoes. All you need to know is he took time during his day off to support you. I could be pissed at the AC pilots that voted in favour of kill the Jazz teir 2 exclusivity, but who cares. That's all in the past. Forward is the only direction that matters, and those that stand beside you today!Mac08 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 10:27 pmI’ll actually agree with that and thankful that majority realize the time is now to improve. Mac08 didn’t you accept working at AC on current contract? You’re complicit in its approval. If no one came, the company would have to raise wages years ago

I personally don’t think people are complicit in their decision to join a contract that wasn’t voted by them.AirCandida wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:47 am Mac08 didn’t you accept working at AC on current contract? Maybe that contract they joined was significantly better than their current one. AC has always set the bar, and people arguably have always wanted to work for them.
In my opinion, it’s kinda unjust of you to argue that fact, respectfully. The sheer volume of pilots hired at air Canada makes it somewhat impossible to have a “boycott”. People lose years of seniority, possibly decades of commuting, etc.
A lot of people don’t have that time. And they just gotta find a home that at the time was better than their previous sh!t job.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
If you read what I wrote, and you obviously didn't, I said I was taking a break. Why would I abandon my own thread indefinitely to nutbars with a hate on for choices they've made? I think this topic is important, and this thread was made to inform, not fight with children. It's been very frustrating in that regard.Mac08 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:46 pmIf you think someone who’s living flatpay at it’s finest and calling out others for degrading this industry with garbage 17 year contracts is working VO I’ll say the same, time to get the medical revoked or retire. You guys with your "17 year contract lunacy" are doing nothing to enhance this thread. Nothing. You're just taking your "dumps" here. Go make your own thread toilet, we have work to do.
And BTW, don't lecture me on "keeping my word". If you kept yours, and were really true to your cause, you would have stayed at Jazz and helped solve the problems there instead of jumping ship and bitching about it from another.

So, his posts regarding AC should be regarded with that in mind!
“Devils advocate — and I support a better deal especially for young pilots starting out.
Why TF should the travelling public GAF about your working conditions, when captains hide in the cockpit and allow stuff like this flight from Morocco to be cancelled , all because of a few buffoons and an FA meltdown over it — 300 people are put out for 2 days.
Instead of taking leadership and fixing the problem.
Answer me and prove you actually care about your Pax, and maybe we’ll care about you for 2 seconds.
This sites posts show nothing but constant derision for your own customers.

I don’t criticize FO’s.
Senior Captains, with an arrogant I don’t care attitude to match, yeah I’ll take you out. You make 500 K a year. Expect some criticism when you don’t GAF. Or yeah cut in front of me.
I criticize the arrogant in any industry
I'm going to put myself in "self imposed exile" till the strike is over. It's too easy to get heated. I won't be posting again till then.
So you didn't actually keep your word. That's fine, but I wouldn't go accusing others of not reading what you wrote or calling you out erroneously.
You changed your mind about posting. But you didn't keep your word.
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
In 2010, the Jazz pilots signed the best deal in the history of the Canadian Tier 2 market. In 2015, they signed the worst. The history is self explanatory.
Some improvements have been made since 2015.
In 2024, let’s hope the AC pilots sign the best contract in Canadian aviation history. Period.
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
AC pilots aren’t negotiating with the general public, however, if they knew the actual breakdown of their ticket, AIF, taxes, etc. they would be shocked why the ticket prices are so high. Pilot salary has to be a small percentage of the ticket price.
If the company wants to be a World Class airline with a CEO paid 233% ($12.4 million) last year, would you not want to be known for having World Class paid pilots?
Nobody should be surprised by large increases in salaries when others are getting large increases too. Quebec justified giving their MPs a 30% pay increase.

There's also no maintenance cost. Sure mechanic salaries would be included labour costs, but parts aren't free; tires, brakes, etc.

For the record we have had hundreds of guys going on VO over the last week. Not sure what to think about it, but I guess we don't want that contract that much after all.
