Hot Fuel wrote:I don't know Dave, Xmas is probably one of the busiest periods for carriers offering scheduled service. I think you will find that a lot of people that plan on flying home for Xmas make their travel plans and booking as far in advance as possible. I also think when they make those booking they book the return portion as well. Not very comforting to try and make a booking only to find out you can only make one-way plans…regardless of your direction of travel. I booked my trip to YVR and back two and half months ago. I'm home for Xmas and returning after the New Years....
Doesn't really sound like you have had too much experience with these flights. I run around with a similar sked, and people don't book more then a week in advance. You'd be lucky for more then a day in advance.

Oh financial wizard in the house, everyone knows business quarterly reports end December 31 and the new financial year begins January 1st.

Judging by some of the comments about some of the departures witnessed by a few of the posters here I'd say the name . fits.

Everyone knows? I think if you asked you would probably find that your year end does not occur on Dec 31st. I don't think many companies try to do year end right in the middle of the holidays, not mention the busiest time of the year. Pretty common to see the end of February or March used as the end of the 4th quarter. It corresponds with the taxation cycle and traditionally a slower period for many businesses.
No Shit Sherlock I like how you deleted my rolling eye icon to indicate sarcasm in your quote of my statement. I think that everyone is aware of financial reporting periods, excluding yourself because of your previous statement saying and I quote
Or did a projection suggest there might not be any cash to operate in 2008?
This is a good indication of your understanding of the financial system.
I think if you asked you would probably......
Here lets try it again, Literary Giant in the house

As for the Name ., Ive been running the .. long time before I started working for NAC  Its just a name.

I don't know where you are looking. I was in YTH doing sched this week. Our YTH based plane was there flying sched also.

The only thing I noticed was that one day we were the only ones flying (Halloween morning), while everyone was parked on the YTH ramp. Maybe thats why you didn't see us there that morning.

Wow, if that's true. Hope all those pilots find jobs quick. Take a look at the competitor companies, you might not even have to move.

12 days after I leave and NAC goes tits up! I feel real sorry for the people there, it was alot of fun good times. Lots of hard working dedicated people, On the upside this industry is really good now and I hope everyone will be back flying ASAP.

Is the pay above average to go with that above average captain? Alberta is becoming a very costly place to live.

The pay and benefits are good even with the cost of living.
