Sunwing Expansion

Post by Four1oh »

Hey, for anyone in the know, has Sunwing been growing their fleet much this year? If so, what are they at? What were they at this time last year?

7 in the fleet, 4 of them are winter leases from Europe. They do the same every winter just like Skyservice.

Does Sunwing bring in crews from Europe as well (like Skyservice) or just the planes themselves? And if so, any idea what company they come from.

Thanks

I'm trying to interpret his body language. Note the subtle rocking back and forth in the chair...hmmmm.

Speaking as an ex-rampie that used to service sunwing, has anyone ever acutally dealt with them? 30 minutes to an hours delay is standard no matter what time of day/weather, and other delays run between 30 to worst I've seen it 9 hours behind, with no mechanical and no weather. Dispatch would call us and be like, "the a/c will be there at some point between 1300 and 1700 local." I mean this is ridiculous, they don't even know where there own plane is. If this airline survives I will eat my hat.

You just made my day Dave. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to depart YYZ only to find 6 rampies for 5 departures all within 10 minutes of each other. Now you turn around and blame the airline..now thats funny!!

It just doesn't matter if they are on time or not, they will carry the same passengers once a year at most and all that matters is how much they pay for their week long vacation. A few hours on each end wont make any difference.

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!
You could have made your story a bit more believeable " the dispatcher would call us and be like"
If you want to have a real conversation some time let me know!

To get back to the posting at hand.
And by the way, thanks John for the link, and for
all you others, no, I'm not Italian, I just talk with my hands
alot.
For those truly interested in Sunwing we are increasing our fleet next winter.
Up to 14 airplanes and possibly more. We are still hiring direct entry Captains
and F/O's. There will be initial courses run every month for the next 'X' months.
Interviews are scheduled for April, most slots already taken but more interviews
in May. All interviews require a written tech. exam and sim evaluation.
Resumes can be forwarded to Sunwing Airlines, on Fasken Drive in Toronto.
Behind the Holiday Inn on the strip and right beside the #409, Fasken Dr. exit.
if you want to drop in off in person. Otherwise go on line the address is there.

Blair, I didn't post it on Youtube. Did you?
