I am planning on taking my dad up for my first passanger flight. Once I get my PPL that is. Call it a thank you for believing in me...oh and helping to finance it over all these years
A friend from my aviation program, we were supposed to go to st. hubert but the flying club didn't have montreal maps in stock so we ended up going ottawa-pembroke
My first passenger was my brother but I had not flown the month before so I had to do a check ride and we were with an instructor.
My first passenger PIC was my mommy. One circuit and she's never gone again. Then I dropped her off and took my Dad, he likes flying with me but I have not taken him up in years.
First passenger was my girlfriend now wife.
We did a 45 mns flight on a SE, then come back to the airport for another 45 mns ride on a twin with my instructor.
She even fell asleep during the ride on the twin.
My grandmother (my mom's mom) on a bright and clear Sept 8, 2001 out of Kelowna on a local flight. My grandfather was the only person in my family to have a pilot's license and he was supposed to be the first I was going to take up, but he passed away shortly before I got my license. Girlfriend (now wife) was second.
My Dad in the front and my grandfather in the back of a C172 out of Carp. Turned out to be a really bumpy day, kind of scared my Dad but my grandfather in the back thought I was a hero for landing the aircraft in a crosswind.
My wife, czba - CYxu, Copying one leg of my "long" ppl x country, for a nice lunch. She is still a contented passenger. Funny on what used to seem like a "long" cross country is now a local hop. Distances shrink the longer you're licensed and farther you venture.
Flew from Regina to Kindersley to pick up my 12 year old son after spending a couple of weeks at his mother's. Brought him back to meet his newborn half brother and half sister.
Hmmm....does your first passenger have to be a non-pilot or a person?
I was my S.O.'s first passenger back when we were first dating and now she and our dog were my first passengers in the 152. If the criteria is a non-pilot then I'm not sure technically if the dog counts either so I'll have to claim a friend who is planned but hasn't happened yet.
I got my license in Air Cadets. The first person to fly with me other than my instructor was another cadet, we rented a plane with our pay from the summer and blew it all on renting planes until it was all gone. But my first real passenger was my Dad. I think, in general, your first passenger should be your Dad.
My mom and dad...the day after the ppl was signed off...did a trip up the lake huron shoreline from grand bend to sauble beach and sightseeing around a few cottages we frequent.
Mom; she brought my license over with her from TC headquarters, in those days there was no delegated signing authority. We cruised around the Rhine Valley.
Good family friend.
One night at his house for a family get together he chucked me the keys to his brand new Audi and said "I've been drinking, and I need to get my son, you can drive" Much to his wife's dismay I was the first person allowed to drive it other than him.
It only made sense to take him up in the 152 a couple of months later when I got my PPL.
Wife. We flew over Waterford which is her hometown. Even saw her parents house. I think her dad waved to us with a towel from the house. I remember trying to slow down the 172 so she could get a good look and her having a hard time spotting the place.
