Re: Canada Jetlines
Is Canada Jetlines getting their own 320 simulator? I saw an article on the CBC french website (radio Canada) saying that they sold a simulator to a North American airline but they couldn't disclose who it was for. Here's the article. It's in french of course... http://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/Ec ... ntes.shtml

Re: Canada Jetlines
The 320 sim could be for American Airlines. They'll likely need one in Dallas.
Just a guess...

Hmmm.. I wonder what WAWCON will be for flight crews and how much the bond will be. Maybe have to sell your soul?

Re: Canada Jetlines
Well, if their seats are even remotely better than Rouge, they'll have a leg up.
Re: Canada Jetlines
Isn't AC getting rid of their narrow body airbus fleet as the max's arrive? I wonder if that's who they are buying the 319's from. Interesting!Solloway hopes to be able to lease two Airbus A319s, which have seating for up to 138 passengers, from the same airline with the intent to buy leases on another 14 A319s by 2017.
Re: Canada Jetlines
I don't think they will offer any pay for pilots.
Maybe they will offer to do volunteering. In exchange they will pay your type rating and you sign a bond for 5 years. And if it's the case, i'm sure they'll get plenty of CV's...

Before you laugh at this operation, look at the management team.

Re: Canada Jetlines
Does anyone know if they have their own website up and running yet? I can't seem to find anything.
Re: Canada Jetlines
Its funny, unless you don't work for Westjet mainline or AC mainline and decide to work at Jetline before you folks don't even know the conditions and yet decide to condescend anyone who dare thinks of working there.
Re: Canada Jetlines
And if you fanboys knew anything about aviation - you'd know they are doomed before they start.....it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. (well - not really, there's been a lot of dumb ideas passed around over the years.) I don't care who's running it - they will talk up the media like it's the greatest idea and put the best spin on it - but in the end.....it's just another dumb idea that was bound to fail.
People that know business - don't know squat about aviation, and people that know aviation know nothing about business. It's a horrible catch 22.

Regardless of the salary.... Any knob that takes a job at a carrier who's soul purpose is to drive down the market should have their license removed!
Why can't pilots see beyond tomorrow?
Sure you'll get a PPC on a big plane, and maybe even a slightly higher paycheque for a few months. BUT in the long run, it is just bleeding our industry.
Airplanes cost X amount of money
Maintenance costs X
Fuel costs X
Airports cost X
And there's no room for trimming.
Pilots will work more, for less pay, Execs will take bigger bonuses for "saving" money!
I would hope I'm wrong, and that JetLines drastically changes our lives for the better.....
But I wont hold my breathe! Will YOU?

Can you please help get AvCanada members interviews at Air Canada (mainline, not Rouge)?

There sole purpose is to be profitable. If they stick to the true lost cost model, they can grow the market, like other low cost carriers have.cpt.sam wrote:Regardless of the salary.... Any knob that takes a job at a carrier who's soul purpose is to drive down the market......

Re: Canada Jetlines
Low cost like Ryanair obtained a lot of Euro subventions, I suspect it is one of the big reasons they have grown so fast.

These guys have put together quite the experienced Executive team to lead them, but you'd think they would have spent a little time and effort putting together a more professional website:

"The ability to ditch an airplane in the Hudson does not qualify a pilot for a pay raise. The ability to get the pilots, with this ability, to work for 30% or 40% pay cuts qualifies those in management for millions in bonuses."

Well, the money had to go somewhere and it certainly wasn't their website!Big Pistons Forever wrote:Latest rumour is the money is not there and this idea is going nowhere.....
I've always believed this country is only big enough for maximum two scheduled service airlines serving coast to coast. There seems to be a lot of hype around Canada Jetlines, but I won't believe it until I actually see a plane flying in their livery. And then after that point we'll just have to wait for it to fold like the ones before it.
I doubt this airline will actually get airborne.
