The pilot of a single engine plane escaped injury Wednesday afternoon after the craft's wing struck a tree while attempting an emergency landing on the Conifex service road in Mackenzie.

The pilot was trying to make the landing after running into engine trouble at about 1,000 feet, said Mackenzie Chief Administrative Officer Peeter Weeber

Most likely it was sold to a new owner and the info just hasn't been updated on TC's website yet.

Well, the new owner has a certain amount of time to send the paperwork to TC, then TC takes a certain amount of time that it takes them to update their database. I'm not sure if that will take 4 months in total, I'm just giving the owner the benefit of the doubt.

Why wouldn't it be Canadian? It happened in BC.

Total wreck and you call that "A GOOD JOB" ?. Just Lucky to be alive. No postcrash fire, engine dead and cold. I thought it was in Point Mckenzie, Alaska, not in BC, my mistake.

Indeed and "excellent job". If despite all his efforts, carb heat on, lots of fuel, lots of oil etc., the engine failed due to a mechanical reason, the pilot did fine. I've had 3 myself and walked away. But landing on a road on the Alaska highway and only hurting the airplane is a damn miracle. I've driven that road all the way to Fairbanks and some areas are nice and some are damn hard to stay on with a car. GOOD JOB PILOT! :D

Mackenzie BC is about 175 miles west of the Alaska Highway at Dawson Creek BC.

Yup! Great job! Point of the exercise is to preserve life....not machinery.

Never paid attention to the CADORS to know if they list tail numbers for accidents. This one doesn't list a tail number.
