I've worked at Westjet for many years and in the last few enjoyed the priviledge of jump seating with A/C many times. From what I've seen the reward is well deserved. Compared to the others worldwide it is one of the best. Customer service has improved drastically, even as stdby both csa's and crew have been excellent. Good job guys.

By North American standards, it's hands down the best. Internationally, it has a few carriers in front of it.

This is a sad thread...have you people not been anywhere?? even BA puts North American carriers to shame..Air France offers excellent service and they could care less if you are an employee or full fare..JAL has some of best service in world, cannot even begin to compare to NA carriers..Qantas is pretty good, Singapore is real good, Emirates is real good, etc.. best service I had in NA was Horizon in an old Dash 8..all of these carriers beat AC so bad it is not even funny, same with WJ whose service may be different from AC and marginally better (at least everyone is not pissed off and looking to dump on you) but it is still pretty bad as they just nickel and dime us to death, I just flew them from Montreal to Vancouver, forgettable ride..

On that basis, AC is best. US carriers have yet to grasp the concept of service.

Are you serious about Horizon? They're ok but nothing wonderful. Alaska used to be an impressive airline about 15 years ago. Now they blend in with the rest of US carriers.

As for international service, which this thread isn't about, I'd agree there are better airlines out there. Air France doesn't make my list. Their business class service and attitude is not up to par.

In NA airline travel has been reduced to "riding a bus" and that is what it resembles, and AC and WJ are no different from their American counterparts, maybe not quite as bad but definitely following same game plan..I really do not look forward to flying anywhere in NA, it is just a big hassle period. Yes I am serious about Horizon, I flew them many times and the FA was always happy and joking around, walking up and down pouring beer (good micro-brewed beer) into your cup..I could not believe it and was pleasantly surprised..it was fun..
