Captain Sweet & Juicy - now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time... To the best of my knowledge, he quit his job on a matter of principle, and that was it for his flying career, too. Disco Stu would know, I think, but he's no longer here, either.

Im sure people type and utter words they probably never heard their whole life. Maybe people are quicker to be offended these days, but people offer a lot more offensive behaviour too.

Az, Sorry you feel that way. Always had a tough time sugar coating things. Perhaps I'll be gentler in the future. But, I wouldn't count on it. LOL

Something about the internet turns people into jerks
In today's politically correct world (including
this website) not tolerating fools gladly is
considered a mortal sin. Far worse than
crashing an airplane.

Youngsters are especially fond of judging
their elders, in this regard. It is considered
cruicial that the valuable lessons of experience
are always heavily candy-coated for maximum
enjoyment, like a soccer game without a score.

Without this candy coating, the lessons of
experience are considered worthless, and are
tossed on the trash heap, like Cat and Doc.

Without these lessons, the youngsters often
crash (with really mundane causes, like leaving
the gear up). Incredibly, these avoidable crashes
are considered "learning experiences".

If one does not drink this particular new-age
Koolaid (as Cat and Leadsled and Doc did not),
they are not welcome in places such as this.

I'm not a youngster. I was referring more to the ceaseless bickering these two managed to touch off, sometimes because of the phenomenon you refer to above, and sometimes not.

I half-jokingly referred to co-pilots once as "little twerps" and Doc responded by telling me that guys like me are the thing "we" are trying to "stamp out of aviation". What's this "we" shit?

There's a lack of respect for seniority that can get frustrating, but there's also a presumption of entitlement to it that can get pretty frustrating too.

Then there's the passive-agressive wounded-intellect thing that you like to trot out sometimes.

My apologies if I have made you feel bad. I
will strive to candy-coat more.

I do not judge my elders. I have been fortunate
enough to spend time with many highly experienced
pilots who taught me many lessons that have kept
me alive over the decades.

The main thing Colonel is since I quit posting here the forum has improved immensely due to more knowledgeable posters with a warm fuzzy delivery having filled the gap I left.

I am stuck in Kamloops with an ABS problem on the motorhome hope I have enough money left after the truck repair gets through with it to finish my trip to Ontario.

Sounds like it could get expensive, which probably then cuts into the hefty fuel budget ?

There's a few ingenious fuel $$ saving tips that may be useful on your trip to recover part of this financial setback.

Be nice, AA. Here in Ontario, we cherish our
$300B public debt and short, mild winters.

Stop by any time, .. Eric and I will take
you flying!

I was lucky, I am back on the road and the only damage was the two brake pads on the left front that did not release properly and over heated before I could find a place to pull off the highway.....anyhow it only cost $370.00.

Fuel is fifty cents to sixty cents a mile in this thing PDW.
Who leaves Kamloops in the summer to go to Ontario?
My memories of Kamloops are not really pleasant......spent far to many days sitting on the tanker base waiting for fires.
