Peterborough CYPQ Restaurant
Hello friends!
A friend of mine mentioned Peterborough is the best place to fly into for breakfasts Saturday morning, but after a bit of research it looks like the restaurant may have moved? Anyone know for sure? Planning on flying in tomorrow morning Thanks!

Good to know! Maybe a switch to Edenvale instead!

Re: Peterborough CYPQ Restaurant
It used to close for the winter, haven't been there in a couple years so I'm not sure if that's the case. Why don't you call the airfield operator and ask?
Re: Peterborough CYPQ Restaurant
I was told it reopened yesterday after changing hands. Thinking of going tomorrow but it'll probably crowded with all the pilots checking it out.
Re: Peterborough CYPQ Restaurant
Was there a week or two ago, the guys at Seneca told me the restaurant was meant to be opened by the end of April. Other than that there's nowhere to get a bite at Peterborough, so better to call in advance unless you want to sustain yourself on fritos and diet Pepsi from the vending machines in the terminal.
Re: Peterborough CYPQ Restaurant
The restaurant, Landing 27, was a local family business that built up a good rep and customer base over the last couple of years (they started after the airport reno's when they put up the new building). They were open all year, and had good for good prices (mostly breakfast and lunch bistro type stuff). The building itself is owned by the municipality and every few years the space is put up for bid. During the last bid, the govt decided to take a bid from a Mississauga based company.
Consequently the locally owned restaurant has moved to highway 28, north of the highway 115 on ramp. They have kept the name, as they own it. It is sad to see a locally run business that helped create interest in the airport get pushed out, but that is how it is. The Landing 27 owners have done an excellent job with the move to the new location, and the restaurant has actually expanded (reopened in April).
The new business at the airport was supposed to be open by now, not sure what their status is ATM. With the loss of a large portion of existing customers (who will go to the new location), it will be interesting to see how long the new company lasts. Peterborough has a small town attitude, and word of mouth can drastically impact businesses. It will be interesting to see if/how much it will affect GA traffic. I know a number of hobby pilots and military crews would stop for fuel and food (specifically at the old restaurant), might be a loss for that revenue and associated taxes. Or not, maybe more people will go to check out the new restaurant ... Who knows.

Seneca moved in next door. They now have 120 mouths to feed everyday, regardless of fly in traffic. Sad that a mom and pop shop that probably made great food, will be replaced by re-hydrated carbs covered in salt in the name of profits.

Thanks for all the replies!!
We ended up heading to YPQ and got some pretty solid food from a newly opened resturant in the terminal - correct that its not the 27.... Been to lindsay a few times!
Was nice flying there in the morning with lots of other traffic!
Food was pretty good and well priced...
Cheers,
