Air Georgian Mentorship Program
Hey guys,
So I've been looking around on this site and around the inter webs in regards to this program Air Georgian offers or had offered. I asked the CFI from the college that I am graduating from and he said he had no recollection of this agreement the college and Air Georgian had. Essentially I'm just curious if this program is still in effect, as it would be a nice transition right to a 704 operation. Their website had a nice flow chart that suggested that the program was still in effect but it was taken down a few days ago. Currently my CFI is contacting some individuals within the company and I have already sent an email to Air Georgian, but I expect to recieve a response back from them when hell freezes over. Any input from internal Air Georgian workers would be much appreciated!
Thanks for your time.

Last thing I heard is that the cadet program was terminated for 2015. You'll be far better off if you head north, shake some hands, make some contacts, experience life and really get a good feel for this industry.
I am grateful that I didn't get hired by a 704 to start, my career has been much more fulfilling and rewarding.

Re: Air Georgian Mentorship Program
Our turnover has been pretty steady and now that we have our mobility list in place with Air Canada, our attrition rate will be higher. The biggest need right now at Air Georgian is upgradeable f/o's. Our most recent mentor hire was about 6-8 months ago and before that was maybe the same time frame. That being said, they probably felt the same as you right now, but it comes down to timing. If they need mentors, they will hire. They did have an agreement with specific flight colleges but I'm not sure if they are still valid. Lots of opportunities in the north and charter world with the regionals hiring many of them.fpsbc wrote:Hey guys,

Just make sure your mentor isn't the guy driving the Beech right on the ass of the KLM 747 coming onto the apron in YYZ yesterday... Was waiting to come out and watching... if that 47 needed a little bit more punch to get to the gate, it would have been a sketchy place to driving a Beech...

Reminds me of watching a rcaf herc in YFB request a few high-speed runs down the runway to "deice." After 4 runs they proceeded back to the ramp and requested the fluid.AirMail wrote:perhaps saving the need to deice?altiplano wrote:Just make sure your mentor isn't the guy driving the Beech right on the ass of the KLM 747 coming onto the apron in YYZ yesterday...
