Class IV Flight Instructor Job Market (South Ontario)
Hi all,
I’ve been working on finishing my instructor rating but I started feeling less and less motivated reading about how class 4 instructors are not being in demand (No surprise but still a bummer). I thought maybe I’d be able to get some advise or information about what flight schools in south Ontario that might be still accepting class 4 applications. I’m open to moving across Canada but just not sure where to start and how to get by with limited to no connections at all.
Thanks!

I highly doubt youll be able to get one in the GTA or southern ontario. Lots of instructors came back from the airlines, which Im sure you're aware of. Ive been seeing ads from schools in BC that arent in Vancouver. Maybe just call up places that are less desirable? or look through the job ad history on this forum and call up those places.. good luck

Don't give up. Keep calling and sending CV's out. Something will happen eventually. Welcome to Commercial Aviation.

If you’ve already begun, you might as well finish the rating, don’t waste the time/money you’ve already put into it.
I’m an instructor in southern Ontario and unfortunately the job market does suck right now, even more so for fresh class 4’s. I don’t know of a single school hiring (or rather was hiring before this new lockdown). In saying that, it’s not impossible, try and make connections and see what’s out there! Maybe try LinkedIn for networking? If we’re talking Canada wide there seems to be more opportunities out west, and unsurprisingly nothing much out east.
As things progress towards the summer I expect things to slowly start improving, jobs will likely still be scarce but hopefully for your sake we see a few job opportunities open up, and I expect we will.

I can put you in talks with a few schools both south and Central Alberta! I'll pm you. Not sure if they're hiring exactly today but def worth it to call them. (Just haven't spoken to them lately except my Class 1 as of recent)Hawk009 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 6:31 am Hi all,
