Flying unjabbed to the US
I just thought of something. From what I know, only those who are vaccinated are allowed to board a "commercial" flight when traveling to and from the US. But what exactly is preventing me from getting on my own private aircraft and flying down south, without being vaccinated, and then return. Has anyone tried this yet? If so, did they check your vax status at customs? Did you have to quarantine? Pay fines? Thanks.

You do not need a PCR test. Only a rapid antigen. Need to be vaccinated, but no one is checking either requirement.flyingcanuck wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:22 pm To travel anywhere from not inside the US to the US you must have a valid PCR test and vaccination status.

So what you're saying is I should cross the border from Mexico like all the other illegals, and dont need a jab. Got it!flyingcanuck wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:22 pm To travel anywhere from not inside the US to the US you must have a valid PCR test and vaccination status.

Not true. Last week we, a group of 6, flew from Canada to the US and were asked to show vaccination status on the US side. Then flew from Costa Rica to the US and were asked again to show vaccination status on the US side. Now it may be a random polling of passengers but...Cessna 180 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 11:48 pm Need to be vaccinated, but no one is checking either requirement.
As well, the US only requires an antigen test to go over but Canada wants to see a PCR test coming back.

I’ve had multiple times in the past few months here. Good luck flying “unjabbed” to the US at this point. I’d be more worried about being denied entry, rather than a fine or a quarantine if I were you. Although I’m sure everything would be in play, including (but not limited to) both fines and quarantines, based off my experiences and discussions with CBP from my recent trips across. I’ve flown across recently in both a commercial setting (as a driver) and in my own GA aircraft.
Re: Flying unjabbed to the US
The rules changed on Dec 8, up until then the requirement was an Antigen test for passengers. Crew was exempt.
