Carson Air YYC Info
Just wondering if anyone has some relatively updated information on Carson Air out of YYC such as the interview/training process, bonds, schedule, "company culture", pay scale for FO's and Captains, etc.
If anyone could give some insight it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

About 5 years ago there was a 18k bond for FO, apologies that this is not more recent. The training involved a bunch of online modules followed by a week of Groundschool and around 5 hrs of flying before the ride.

I can answer some of your questions based on what I know
Training : one week of aircraft system ground school with instructor , the rest of ground school is online. 5 hrs of actual flight training in the plane . ( 3 training flights and a ppc )
Bond is currently 12 K for 18 months
schedule depends on staffing level. Days are early morning ( 5AM) check-in and back home around 6 PM, weekend off . When you are not flying, you are on call ( Mon-Fri).Overall average about 40-50 hours per month.
PAY for FO depending on your experience, they will reveal it in the interview. ( industry standard )
hope these info helps

A bond, 12 or more hour duty days, and on call when you aren't working. All for low 30's from what I've heard, FO's anyway. What a joke lol. Please tell me pay has gone up significantly.

Minus the bond part and schedule it sounds like Carson is on par or close to Jazz or encore in terms of pay/ WAWCON. The difference ? Someone likely has a decent chunk of time prior to jazz.
An AC new hire comes in at 55k? ( I could be wrong) I’d hate to see swoop or flair.
I wish Canadian pilots actually had the bullocks to take a stand against this bs… especially with inflation. Our counterparts to the south are doing better. We should too.

The pay at regionals in the US used to be horrendous. Now it's all signing bonuses and rainbows. Amazing what that 1500 hour rule did for supply and demand.McKinley wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:50 am
