$72 K for Captain, $45 for f/o's
10 gdo's (they call them sdo's) a month and 3 to 5 gray days
No long work days
Didnt ask about interline but I doubt it at the beginning
Profit sharing likely
All in all not bad though the pay is low for Captain. The interview was professional and left me with a good impression.

Thanks Who for the solid info.
Just curious, was the interview more of a meet and greet or was it technical.

SDO's is days off, thats right, so 10 guaranteed and 3 to 5 gray. Gray days arent really reserve as its pretty easy to dodge going in.
The interview was heavy on HR and what kind of person you are but pretty light on technical.

Don't think 72k is enough coin to live good in the Big Smoke
My .02 cents...

Pal, if you cant live on $72k in YYZ you better switch from pure coke to crack.
I own a house almost in downtown TO and make just a little less than that.

I think $45k for starting F/O is a pretty respectable pay...then again with 3000hrs they ask for an F/O, you can go to Cathy and make double that, and fly muchos grandes aeroplanes

Has anybody heard as to how they are coming with regards to licences, ops certificates etc. Are they really going to go, or should I stick with the job I have?

I read in the Globe and Mail a couple days ago that they haven't even sent in their application for an AOC yet. I'm not sure how long that process takes to get an AOC. When is their start-up date?

I am curious about the 'HR'. What kind of questions do they ask you about that?

Nothing ventured nothing gained.
I was fortunate to be selected for an interview with Porter and attended and was very impressed. The staff that was on hand was very pleasant and professional and the interview was very relaxed.
The interview was all behavioural (HR) and no technical and I left there with a very good feeling about the company as I asked a lot of questions and got answers to them all.
It's interesting to note that they had applied for their AOC some months ago yet the Globe is saying otherwise.
With Robert Deluce and the management team at Porter, I feel very confident that this airline will be a success.
Waiting for the call.

BN2T, Was your interview for Capt. or FO? Do you mind giving your total time or experience?

DLB, what learcapt should have said was $72K isn't nearly enough money for left seat on a Q-400 regardless of where you are based.
