Re: westjet hiring?
They are dealing with the merger in spring 2025. And upgrading takes up to over a decade. Who knows what the future holds but I doubt they would be doing any hiring in 2025 at least.
Re: westjet hiring?
Why would they do any OTS hiring while dealing with a merger and still have a few dozen Encore pilots flowing through ?
Boeing aint deliverin', there's no growth at WJ and no mass retirements. If anything, this is an airline that will be slightly overstaffed in the near future and we'll be lucky to avoid reduction bids in eastern bases.

Complex systems won’t survive the competence crisis
Re: westjet hiring?
Plus several dozen geriatrics are staying on past retirement which doesn’t help with hiring.
DEI = Didn’t Earn It
Re: westjet hiring?
Those are our colleagues and fellow pilots - if you can't keep the conversation civil without attacking fellow pilots, do us a favour and just keep it to yourself! WestJet controls the operation of that program, not the pilots, or association. It will sunset at some point in the future, and those pilots should be proud to know that they can head into retirement after transporting millions of passengers safely through the skies. They paved the way for Pilots of different generations to take that seat with the knowledge they have passed down.
Show some respect!

So let me get this straight, these older pilots who got their houses for a carton of blueberries and a pack of timbits, have had plenty of time to milk the top of the scales, and are now holding up the progression of current pilots are supposed to be shown the utmost respect? Lmfao give your head a shake.Oleo 4 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 7:27 pmThose are our colleagues and fellow pilots - if you can't keep the conversation civil without attacking fellow pilots, do us a favour and just keep it to yourself! Back in the days the blue berries were pretty expensive.
But seriousely I wonder if you will still insult older pilots when you will reach the end of your career ?
