Anybody knows the reason for all the recent movement over there? Any info on salary, schedule etc. would be great too! (Try "Commercial Aviation" on the search engine, you'll see just how many results you get)
Thanks

Recent movement is due to pilots moving on to other jobs. That simple. Commercial is no different in that regard than any other Northern Ontario company. Pay is average, based heavily on mileage. This encourages lots of flying, which is good for time builders. The company tries giving a schedule you can work with, but that is contingent upon their needs as well. Usually a 10 day on, 5 day off schedule is the norm...but the schedule gets wacky everywhere with pilot shortges these days. All around decent company, providing great work experience.

Commercial Aviation is a great company to work for. I've been here for the past 5 months now and have absolutely no regrets in my move from my previous employer. As far as pay scales go for the pilots, im not too sure as i'm on maintenance side and all my flying is recreational. I've been told however it is exactly how Rudder said it is. The crew here right now is excellent, the boss and managers are all great people and very easy to get along with. There are 3 bases operating right now, Kapuskasing, Timmins, and Sudbury, with the possible re-opening of another in Hearst. As far as the pilot movement goes, to me it seems like the classic case of get home-itis. Lots of pilots from pretty much everywhere else but northern Ontario, trying to make it back to near their homes. So, unfortunately, i guess like tsgas said it has turned into somewhat of a training camp which is a piss off for me on the maintenance side having to fix all the greenhorn F**k-ups.
