This kind of rumor has been going on for quite a while I believe....

What kind of 37s?
Where do they come from?
Are they going to be online anytime before the end of the decade?
What will they replace?
Is Inuit going to FINALLY offer flights to the caribbean? :)

I'll believe it when I see it on the ramp in company colors. BTW, did Thunder buy that 1900? :)

200's.
Don't know.
I would assume so.
Don't know.
Probably not. To be gravel equipped, perhaps in the future if not now.

Good luck switching to jets with the current fuel prices if it is true, weird a great company like Air Inuit pulling that kind of wrong move... Specially -200's...

Yes they burn fuel, but you can buy one for about $2 million. How much are the Ng's starting at? $35 million plus? Canadian North, First Air and Air North are operating theirs quite successfully what makes it so hard to belive Air Inuit can't do it. If it is true I wish them the best of luck!! :D

I heard that Peter Horsman went to Abu Dhabi to close the deal. It`s no BS. As for the contract, they were under pressure from some communities(POV) to get a jet service. And from Coop. They will eventually fly the Raglan miners too. They are supposed to be 2 B-737-200 fitted with cargo doors. Good luck to them! niodatchi

I was chatting with Laplante come years ago (about 4) and at that time he said that AI wanted to get a jet or maybe 2 but of course with their sister company already operating 1 daily from YUL it was not viable. Maybe AI got Makkivik to turn the screws on First Air to back out of YUL and YVP. This in conjunction with Raglan and other freight to the Hudson Bay Coast might be enough to be viable.

Good Luck to Air Inuit.

Cheers,

There's been talk of jets for Air Inuit for years!
Is there any chance these jets could be for Hydro Quebec work?

Sorry my bad-
Air Inuit operates Dash 8-400s on behalf of Hydro Quebec out of YUL. They go up the various stations around La Grande.. quite the operation.
Wondering if they might be upgrading to larger aircraft with the purchase of jets?

Air Inuit has bought two 737-200's, I believe there planning to service communities on the east side of hudson bay area. The reason why companies like this purchase 200's is because they have no choice. They need them for gravel ops, and the ones they did purchase I believe are combi's.

I'm kinda curious about this one. Why if they are certified in the US would they be not be allowed in Canada? Was it a one of certification? Was there some field approval that would not qualify in Canada? Sorry but curious..
