Post by Howitzer »

Does anyone know how many more Ground schools Jazz is planning on running for the rest of this year?

Thanks.

Groundschools will continue until pilots stop quitting..........no growth in the forecast and retirements are less than 1% of pilot force per year.

The forecast from the last bid was for 79 newhires by the end of the year. Since then, two new resignation lists have been published. 38 pilots have quit since the last bid got published...this is why you'll see that some information may be conflicting. With the rate people are leaving (especially now that the freezes are ending), the hiring likely won't slow down anytime soon.

Hope that helps...

Swerved.

In a world full of people, only some want to fly. Isn't that crazy?

And with memos like this going around, I'm sure more to leave...

From Jazz Mgmt.
Situations when it is NOT appropriate to use personal travel passes:

So, you can use your passes for vacations only, which you don't get at Jazz for a least a year after you start... Nice.

I just wouldn't tell them what you're planning on doing. It's really none of their business what you do on your own time. Im pretty sure you don't have to ask permission to use YOUR travel benefits.

And what exactly did you think that the travel policy was? This is a carbon copy of AC's policy so a move to AC changes nothing in terms of personal travel.

Following this advice is one of the fastest ways to get fired that I know. At the very least, your travel privileges will be taken away.

I think most airlines have similar restrictions on their employee travel.

I wouldn't go as far as saying theyr'e "YOUR" travel privileges. The company isn't asking anything unreasonable. They're for personal pleasure travel and commuting. It's a good benefit.

Its not that the policy is any different at Jazz than it is at AC. Its just that Jazz feels it has to post a memo to that effect.

Maybe if they paid more guys would not have to go do part-time work elsewhere.......

At least they didn't say- "Don't use pass priveledges to travel to your WestJet interview."

Well, so far anyway.

Oh my God. Maybe if they paid a living wage people their employees wouldn't have to fly to other jobs.

Oh but if they did, I am sure the 9 previous posters, Jazz experts, could still find something negative to say about Jazz.

It really is one of the worst jobs in Canada....I can't believe what the company expects us employees to do...I wouldn't wish this job on anyone. I really feel for the 1500 pilots (including myself) and over 4000 employees that chose this place as a career. If only we all had known about avcanada and all of their career experts before we came. We could of prevented a huge mistake.

I love how quick everyone is to point out how low the wages are at Jazz blah blah!!! All these little pecker heads that are all of a sudden industry experts and way too special because they work at mainline or WJ!!! Hey boys, why don't you tell us how much a WJ pilot makes his first 2 year? How is the 1st year salary at AC? How's paygroup putting out these days?

Wake up you dumb shits!!! The whole industry took one in the balls post sept.11 and the 1st year pays at any of the airlines suck. If you don't like what Jazz is paying, don't fly here. If you fly here now, then @#$! off and go to WJ!

If you need to bash Jazz to make yourself feel better about working where you do then maybe you need a cock extension and a hair transplant! We get it. Jazz is not the greatest place in the world to work. Let me save you the suspense, neither is Swiffer WestJet or Air Canada. You have to wonder if those places are so great to work why the little pecker heads on here have to keep putting down Jazz to make themselves feel so superior. Get over it!!!

I guess all the Jazz guys should start bashing GGN and CMA about their contract so that we can feel like kings o fthe shitpile!!!
