One consideration... do you have a remote for the camera or some means of turning it off/on when it is attached to the strut or where ever outside the plane? Here is what I use for my camera... mind you I wouldn't trust it by itself outside the plane... unless you add a lot of trusty ductape. http://www.joby.com/

Consider finding an all weather or water proof / freeze proof camera for out of plane use... I got this one http://blackphotostore.com/english/prod ... p?sku=7449 was about $280 at Blacks.

Good luck and if you get some good shots, put them in the Bush pilot pics of a swamper thread and share the fun. Also, I'd be curious as to where you attach the camera and how well it worked.

How about the helmet cam? A friend of mine just got one for skiing and it's an attachment for a video camera so you can still use it without the helmet. He's got about 30 minutes of footage of me snowboarding and it looks great...I mean I look great...whatever!

for inside try the Gorillapod http://www.joby.com/
Might not be so great for spins though but for the xcountries you can find something inside to wrap it to and hope it holds.

For outside the plane I've seen it done using plastic tiewraps. LOTS of them.

Get a suction cup tripod. They're cheap and they work fantastic. Stick it to the windscreen and go. Works with any camera with a tripod socket in the bottom.

If your going to mount it outside just be sure enforcment doesn't find out about it, I suspect they would state you need an STC and a 702 OC...

Glider guys do it all the time, perhaps search on soaring websites. I think I saw a discussion once about mounting cameras on wings etc. on some euro soar site...

Hey thanks alot guys, the Gorillapod and the suction cup should do the trick.

Hey Invertago, that's a pretty cool cam, thanks for the ideas buddy. I will grab the suction cup and see how that works, also might consider having a cushion foam wrap against the wing strut, then placing the camera on it and duct taping the hell out of it. That should do the trick.

I will explore, experiment and see how it goes. Probably post some vidz in the videos section. I'll keep ya guys updated. Thanks ! 8)
