Maybe one of you has the answer to this one.

When looking on the LO charts, specifically LO 4, on V300 between Gros Cap and Thunder Bay VORs, near the midway point there is an MEA GAP. Another appears on V36 between Wawa and Thunder Bay with MEA GAP 6 NM.

We can't figure out what the GAP means. We've looked on the legend and it's not there neither is it in the instrument procedures manual. Over to you.

It means that the reception of the required nav-aids (i.e. VOR-VOR or VOR-NDB, etc.) may not be guaranteed in that 'gap'....it is beyond line-of sight range for that little bit, IF you are flying AT the MEA.

Instead of raising the entire MEA along that route, it's just stated as a 'gap'. Obstacle clearance (MOCA) is unchanged.

nowadays with GPS/FMS navigation, an MEA gap is inconsequential. Mostly, anyway.
