stay away from the tall shorts captain! scary stuff, i hear  there's a reason he's isolated from society!

A. Best company ever - I worked there as dispatch for about 3 months and was getting close to the plane. Then found out I was pregnant and had to return home for medical care. It was very sad to leave and honestly, I wish I could go back.

B. Hubby was also offered a ramp job there but took a job elsewhere - He wishes he had taken the summit job instead. He wants to apply there now... heh so do I (still pregnant Ide be fairly useless).

C. Both of us miss Summit and wish we could go back. We love the management and the staff that is there. Miss you guys :(

Hows that?

Haven't heard a bad thing about them and if I were starting all over again, thats where I'd be knocking. Know a few guys who work/have worked for them and the only bad thing they've said about working there is that they lose a bunch of money to the tax man at year end as they make a tonne of cash!!! I'd say a good starting point (if you wanna work there) would be www.summitair.net . Good luck!

Hands down, best CP and Ops Manager you could possibly have... they're also the owners. Also, the main dispatch girl is absolutely awesome. Did I mention they pay far, far above average?
Isn't the cost of living far, far above average??????

Definately higher cost of living but probably in line with Vancouver, Fort Mac, Toronto...etc. I believe their F/O's make about 45k starting out and captains start at about 70k on the Skyvan. I know of at least one making over 100k on D228. They hire you on the ramp and the wait has usually been 6 months or less. However with a slow down looming, it may be longer now. I know a few who left other ramp jobs in YK, to go to Summit. They're now captains on the skyvan making 70k a year. If they stayed at their other ramp jobs they would have started flying a few months ago.

which tall shorts captain are you referring to? one is skiing in the kooteneys (or in the nude in a hot tub), and the other is chasing a hot babe in NZ. Deffinetly not isolated from society!

Flyincannuck: i hope your 1200RVR approaches in YHZ are going alright, and you will see the sun soon.

cheers,

I've heard that the tall shorts captain demands a good air guitar from new FO's.

I've heard great things about them, but couldn't get myself to move somewhere that cold.

Look up the vid's on youtube.

They'll rotate the Knob captains but not the skyvan i believe. Requirements are on the web page. 2 grand and your atpl I think... 500 multi-pic maybe as well. They also love guys with twotter time.
