Biggest problem with Air Mikisew is Fort McMoney.

Well you say you're a new guy so I'm assuming you have no time. I only a little second hand info from a guy I worked with in YK.

He worked the ramp there before heading up to YK... and he described it as the most miserable work experience of his life. I remember him telling me something about an outdoor PA system that they would give you shit on while there may or may not have been pilots/customers standing in your presence. Anyway, he quit after a few months, as did a few others guys that he kept in touch with.

I think there are a lot of other places to start on the ramp than mikesew... and a lot cheaper spots to live. If you really want to live in Fort Mac, for whatever reason that may be, what about MacMurray Aviation??

Though I never worked for Air Mikisew I did apply, I did interview and subsequently had a job offer to work the ramp. The ops manager I spoke with was very friendly and seemed quite genuine. The position was entry level and there was some mention that with "hard work" I would be promoted to flight line within the year "or so". They did make it quite clear that Ft.Mac was VERY expensive to live and that most employees shared housing in order to make it more affordable.
Good luck and safe flying
