Ridley, Rod seems to be the top poster for CADORS.

Rod does CADORS for at least part of PNR. I enjoy his sense of humor. I suspect management do too as he's been at it for some time. Good on you, Rod!

It was posted on here before and I'll try and find it but I guess Rod isn't the one writing these CADORs it's somebody else.

The real culprit behind the wiley wit of the Cadors is actually a rather famous ex TSB investigator that now resides in the glass palace dowtown Winterpeg.
I have to ensure that he gets most of the credit as he dives regularly into the dictionary to ensure quality reports that you folks read with great anticipation.
His name being the honorable GARRY COOKE.
Rod does the preliminary report (which is normally bland) but the follow-ups are done by other inspectors that have expertise in their field.
Mr. Cooke does a fabulous job ensuring accuracy and at times a little injected humour mostly to keep sanity in a rather ho-hum place.
I hope you can give the proper suspect the credit that he is due!!! He will not be with us too much longer unfortunately.

Garry Cooke...haven't seen that bandit in 30+ years...cripes I was one of his instructors at Borden Flying Club. His sense of humour has never changed. Whenever we had a C-47 come into Borden he would run out to the ramp and darned near droop uncontrollably all the while muttering how he wanted to fly one of those beasts...he later did just that before going with TC.
Another funny one

O.P.I.: System Safety
Narrative: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the aircraft, a French registered CL-5T ( Global Express) arrived at Whitecourt and parked at the forestry ramp without asking permission or requesting prior authorization. Fire fighting operations were and have been in full force for three weeks at Whitecourt. Firecats, CL- 215 etc. not to mention helicopters of all shapes, stripes and sizes. The crew were asked to move their aircraft because two Lockheed Electras retrofitted for aerial fire retardant/firefighting needed the ramp space. They reluctantly moved their aircraft when told that if they didn't airside operations would. After all this the crew then went on a walkabout and were intercepted by the APM who gave them verbal counseling on airside protocols and etiquette in both official languages . The APM was born in Three Rivers QC so the language card that the crew attempted to use was trumped.

Re: Another funny one
How sad is it that I notice when Rod Ridley has a day off? Man writes the BEST CADORS. Do a search for animal incursions...hysterical. Clearly the kind of guy you'd happily buy beers for all night just for the pleasure of his company.ditar wrote:User Name: Ridley, Rod

Narrative: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the Elk which reportedly was nearly struck by an arriving Lockheed-188 A Electra was not an Elk but a Mule deer. It along with five white tailed cousins were culled and removed from the premises by personnel from the Alberta Fish and game branch. Besides the pilots of the Lockheed 188 getting their blood pressures back to normal this event had no operational impact

O.P.I.: System Safety
Narrative: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the APM reported that a big storm went through Lloydminster with lots of thunder and lighting which caused a two hour power outage. The weather was so severe that it scared a horse which was on a ranch in a wooden coral about a mile or so from the airport. The horse ran or jumped the coral and because the powered fence was down, he was on the lose. The horse decided to hold up at the airport workshop (maintenance building). A farmer who was bailing hay at the airport saw the horse and tried to catch him which was how the horse got onto the runway. Both FSS personnel and the farmer called the APM. The APM Lariat in hand was able to catch the horse and lead it back to his home. Once he established who owned the horse the APM returned it to the owners. This event did not cause any interruption of air traffic although it did liven up for a while at least a rather slow Sunday at the Lloydminster Airport. The APM is still trying to get fencing through T/C ACAP funding.

Re: Another funny one
FYI
The honorable Garry Cooke is actually the originator of all the funny Cadors that you see. Unfortunately he will become a member of the retirement club early this fall. We do not nor will acquire anyone to replace Garry's talent and wit.
If you know him I suggest giving him a call before he disappears into the sunset.
