cheap way to fly into Halifax
I wanted to fly into Halifax in a 172, and it looks like the only option is to go to HFX. Sounds like everyone wants 50 bucks to park overnight. Anyone know of a cheaper way to fly into the area?

Try Debert (CCQ3) I'm not a pilot but this maybe a cheaper option...I'm not really sure but $50 seems reasonable for parking.
Anyway here is small website with some info. http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/tfc/
Enjoy Nova Scotia.

i *think* if you buy fuel from shell they let you park for free (maybe only 1 day)
there are airport shuttles that run to downtown that might be cheaper than the cabs.

Looks like av fuel isn't marked up any where near as much as auto fuel in Canada

Is Shearwater still open to private traffic?
I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers...

Nope, helicopters only at Shearwater, seems strange a City like Halifax has NO options for GA aircraft close to the city.

I'd try the buying fuel angle with Shell or Esso... if they have both.
It used to work that way.
