Line-x
I was in wpg last week and had line-x do the rocker panels and wheel wells of my truck -- got talking to the guy and he tells me he has been doing flaps for gravel damage and also the ski bottoms(suppose to be very slippery) -- all the work is done with TC - wonder if this requires an STC and who owns it or is something like that open to anyone if it's certified on type.
Great product btw and a great bunch of people to deal with

Re: Line-x
I dont have a real or "approved" answer, but speculation here. Its basically a 'Paint' and thus you wouldnt need an STC for it, just a pn right?

Re: Line-x
It is sprayed on but it has more depth - I would suspect about 1/8 of an inch but that's a good point. It's not like bolting something on.

Re: Line-x
My guess is that if it doesn't affect the weight enough to create a new W&B, it should be ok. No structural changes> This one's for the ame's.
What little I do know is either not important or I've forgotten it!

Subpart 1 - Interpretation
Content last revised: 2009/12/01
101.01 (1) In these Regulations:
"major modification" - means an alteration to the type design of an aeronautical product in respect of which a type certificate has been issued that has other than a negligible effect on the weight and centre-of-gravity limits, structural strength, performance, power plant operation, flight characteristics or other qualities affecting its airworthiness or environmental characteristics; (modification majeure)
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
Re: Line-x
I had it in the bed of my pickup truck, thought it was a great product. Very tough.

Ya Line-X is cool stuff, they make three or four different kinds of hardness from rock hard to a soft rubber. I like the soft rubber about the number three. When the rocks hits it the impact does not transfer into the skin or structure. They can also make it smooth so it doesn't have the rough surface which can be hard to clean they will also so put the color you like in it, just the harder products though.
