Aircraft is one of two DHC-3T operated by Black Sheep Aviation and Cattle Company.

A man from Duncan, B.C., was killed after the plane he was flying crashed in central Yukon on Thursday, according to RCMP.
Yukon RCMP say the crash took place near Mayo Lake, about 38 kilometres northeast of the community of Mayo.
Satellite signals from the plane indicate it crashed around 5:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, according to police.
Shortly after the crash, a helicopter was dispatched from Ross River to the crash site.
"They were able to land nearby, hike to the site and they were able to confirm that unfortunately the pilot, and the only occupant of the plane, did not survive the impact," Sgt. Don Rogers told CBC News on Friday.
Police did not release the name of the deceased, but Rogers said the man was a pilot with Black Sheep Aviation, a Whitehorse-based charter company that has bases in Mayo and Ross River.
The downed aircraft was one of two turbine-powered DHC-3 Otters that Black Sheep owned.
Another Black Sheep pilot, Richard Rodger, was killed after the Otter aircraft he was flying crashed shortly after takeoff from the Mayo airport in June 2007.
A coroner's report concluded that Rodger's death was an accident caused by a shifting load of lumber inside the plane.

The pilot was Brad Chambers. We both flew for Harbour Air at the same time and he was one of the most wry mo-fo's in existence, helped to keep it in perspective on those long days. Big Charles Bukowski fan. A smooth hand with a Turbo Otter. I will miss him something horrible.

Rest in peace friend. You were a great buddy, a mentor and a 1st class human being. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. When my time comes, I'll meet you at the 98 with two fingers of Bushmills and a Fireball chaser.

Great guy, kinda helped me get started. An fellow alumnus of good old Wabowden flying. Pretty sad news. Ill only remember his smiling face and his classic quote " if i stay at harbour air i calculated ill fly to Nanaimo 55000 more times" funny guy.....Thoughts are with his family.

One of my friends (Richard Rodger) passed away in the Otter crash out of Mayo in 2007. Bad news indeed for the crew at Black Sheep.
Very very tragic news
Godspeed, Brad.

Re: Turbo Otter Crash, Mayo, Yukon
You will be missed my friend.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

Re: Turbo Otter Crash, Mayo, Yukon
I will miss you, Brad. What a fantastic, stand up guy you were. You were the first friend that I have had that I knew wouldnt hesitate to have my back when the shit hit the fan. If you were stuck on a sinking ship, Brad would have swam out and got on board to stand there next to you as you both went down. He risked his career once for me, not because he had to, but because he knew that I wasnt being treated well and he decided to turn his back to the job and walk away without ever looking back. From the first time I met him in Kenora to the last day I saw him a couple of weeks ago I never had more respect for a guy.
I am going to miss his ridiculous stories and wild and hilarious views of life. I am going to miss our surf sessions at Sombrio. I am going to miss having a guy that I truly looked up to. I always wondered why he wanted to hang out with me, because I could never keep up with him. He always told me, "I run hot" and I think he was comparing himself to a radial engine. But he never asked anything of me and the best stories I have are the ones of running around town with him.
It hurts my soul to think that Brads son will grow up without his father. Brad always joked that he would teach the kid to be a man and how to "jump on a grenade" if you know what I mean. Everything he said was for shock value, but the meaning was clear. He would do anything for his family. He loved hard, played hard and there was never any in between. I wish he could tell me now what I could do for him, because I would do it without a question or a thought because he would have done the same for me
I feel for the whole family. I never thought that anything like this could happen to a guy like him. I though you were invincible, man.

Re: Turbo Otter Crash, Mayo, Yukon
Brad is my cousin I also am very thankfull that Ihad an opportunity to have just had a visit with Brad, Cathy and Benji.
I'm sure that if Brad had a way to read the things that everyone is writing about him, he would probably shed a lot of tears. Some of the things that you said like, "Brad would do anything for his family and also for his friends" is so true.
When we were visiting, I tried to get Brad to go hunting with me but, he really didnt have the time. He had so much crammed into a short visit, but when he heard that where I work, we have a big John Deer tractor, I think that he pushed other things aside just to bring Benji for a ride on the tractor. We only had an hour or so that day. It seemed that taking Benji for that ride was the most important thing in the world.
Trying to put on this post what is in my heart is very hard. Just to say thanks for your words and thoughts does not seem enough.
I am not a pilot and I'm not sure what it means when you say that you will meet him at the 98, but I'm sure that if he is there he is waiting for other pilots, cracking jokes and going a mile a minute. And I'm sure that Cathy and Benji are in his heart.
All i now is that Brad got to live his dream to fly and to have a family . I wish that we could all live our dreams .
thanks Andrew Rushlow

Well said Andrew, sorry for your loss. I did not know him in the least but he sounds like another one of those great guys that our industry has lost.

Yes. Brad was a fellow AvCanadian. But because he no longer has a chance to defend his often interesting points of view, his username will remain anonymous.

I have many great memories of Brad from my time in Kenora. RIP my friend.
Re: Turbo Otter Crash, Mayo, Yukon
Brat, you were a king among men. One of the few that could make anyone laugh at any time. You made a huge impact on so many just with your smirk and attitude. The world truly was a better place because of ya. I'm gonna miss you big time buddy.
Hope it's nothin' but blue skies and tailwinds wherever you are now..
