YFB questions
Hey everyone, first time poster but been browsing for a while and decided to get an account. I have a couple of questions about YFB service if you all don't mind.
1. Why does it operate out of YOW and not YYZ or YUL?
2. How are loads? I see they use a -705 on the route, I guess you can fill more than a 100/200.
3. Is that trip junior for crews? If you've flown it, how do you like it?
Just curious about the service, seems pretty cool to be flying up to there.

Re: YFB questions
I believe a lot of traffic going to YFB are government workers. Makes sense going from one Capital to the other. The RJ 705 does the trip because generally the 100/200 don't have the range to hold an alternate up there. As far as flying up there, it's pretty senior because of the high credit.

Re: YFB questions
1. 705 due solely to leg length, and distance to alternate.
2. Amazing flight, first time I did it I was plastered to the window as I have not been that far north.
3. Loads vary, I have saw them very light and on the other end I have flown 65 peeps up there.
4. As for the flying, yes fairly senior unless the pairing your on is an overall low credit pairing.
5. The flight starts outta YUL as already stated.

Re: YFB questions
Thanks for the info! flyinhigh do you fly up there often? I would love to go visit up there some day

Re: YFB questions
Not often no, I've done a few though.
From a guy that was never up there till we started flying there. Holy hell that place is awesome, I love the outdoors though so if your not into any of that kinda stuff than well, i'd say the night life is not as good as Tdot.

Re: YFB questions
and for some of us, yfb is as far south as we operate. the view only gets better the further north you go.
1. The company pays me to make money for it.
2. If the company doesn't make money neither do I
3. I still hate simulators

Re: YFB questions
Just heard that as of August 1st AC is pulling out of Iqaluit.
Re: YFB questions
Yup, done Aug 1st as per the CBC. I'm sure the politicians will out in full force now cry about it.FICU wrote:Just heard that as of August 1st AC is pulling out of Iqaluit.
Re: YFB questions
Why? It's not like there isn't 2 other airlines to service YOW-YFB. AC loads were, on average, poor to say the least. It was only a matter of time and with the code share agreement with 5T the AC pax will still be taken care of.
Re: YFB questions
I agree but it seems to be the theme whenever AC pulls out of a route or city.FICU wrote:Why? It's not like there isn't 2 other airlines to service YOW-YFB. Re: YFB questions
The code share arrangement with CDN North was 'one way' only (5T code on AC flights). AC is not permitted to put it's code on any 5T flights (ACPA scope restriction).FICU wrote:Why? Re: YFB questions
Go to aircanada.com and type in flights to YFB. You will not find any flights that have the AC code.
