Crossing over USA momentarily
I plan on flying CYRQ direct CYFC in the very near future. The flight will take me straight across the border over Maine for roughly 45 mins. I plan on filing VFR and to remain low, any idea what kind of ATC procedures will be required along with flight plan considerations? There isn't much for flight following as far as I can see. Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks!

Although I can't provide you with any firsthand experience, I did find these threads informative, I hope you do too.

Re: Crossing over USA momentarily
When you are going the other way, HZ FIC forwards your flight plan to the center. It is assigned a discreet code which the tower or center can find for you. Make sure you are squawking this prior to entering US airspace, as your flight plan info with this code is forwarded to BOS centre (In theory). The US does have a radar at Caribou, ME and has pretty decent low level radar coverage. You will be handed off to Boston center if you are being provided flight following. If flt following isn't available from YUL centre, get a frequency for BOS and call them prior to entering their airspace.FE_PLT wrote:I plan on flying CYRQ direct CYFC in the very near future.
