Gatineau Police Ask cow if he feels lucky

I'm usually the first one to defend the cops but I am not sure this was the ideal way to handle this. Sure, its rough for the poor cow but my biggest concern is the severe lack of discretion as they let the bullets fly.

"Now cow, I know what you're thinking: we shot you 7 or 8 times already, and just how many rounds will we actually pump into a domesticated non-threatening animal? The question is do you feel lucky, cow? Do you?"

My final count was at least 10 or 11 shots...

Better question is why didn't someone just go get a rope? Why on earth were they considered a danger to the public? They're just cows! I used to be able to heard these things into a pen when I was six.

Seriously, are people that scared of cows? It wasn't being aggressive at all - when it was running towards the cops, it was angling to go around them.

I hope that the people of Gatineau realize that their police should never be allowed near a farm. (And are the type who will shoot before thinking).

Idiots.

(By the way, unless the shotgun is loaded with a slug, it likely won't kill a cow with one shot - you'd need a skilled shot with a hunting rifle - I guess that rules out the Gatineau police).

Indeed, though the welfare of cattle aside, the real concern is how (in)competent the people were. If there's this much trouble dealing with a few stray cows, you'd have to wonder what sort of half baked plan they'd come up with to deal with a real emergency.

Many police departments have made the switch from 9mm to .4S&W.

I did enjoy the well placed headshot on the second volley, but didn't do much.
