As we are all well aware, Canada is one of the largest suppliers of Professional Seaplane Pilots across the globe. The introduction of the International Seaplane Pilot Association has begun its preliminary stages in the development of a worldwide Seaplane Pilot database to help us understand our roles in the aviation industry.

Our goal is to build a starting point where both professional float pilots and employers can come for the truth about the seaplane industry! In order for us ALL to be successful, we need your help in the development process by sending your basic information to be utilized in our database. Simply take a few moments to fill in the appropriate information and send off an email to : international.seaplane.pilots@gmail.com

All we need is the following:

Interesting concept. Don't they have a similar organization in the US based in Minnesota? Who would have access to the personal information provided?

Good luck with your Association!

This concept of the association we created has varies stages of development. This first step in the process of building the database is naturally going to be what determines the future. If this is successful, and the results are what I expect, then we (the pilots) have the appropriate information that we can use in coordination with ALL employers across the planet to make successful business.

This happens in two ways:

: the OPERATORS will have the ability to plan accordingly for better crew and resource management for future planning purposes.

: the PILOTS will know and understand their own worth. We are a valuable resource to these operators and this association will give us that understanding of what to expect. We have a different set of skills then conventional pilots...so its nice to know where we stand!

Throughout the governments worldwide they are conducting studies about the future status of pilots in the AIRLINES....The goal of this association is know where the SEAPLANE pilots stand NOW. We can't predict the future!! Afterall we have to work together and this association is our attempt in that direction.

LOST LAKE thanks for the offer of help!! The only thing i can ask is help to get pilots to send in their information....as much as possible!! Thanks again!

All information to : international.seaplane.pilots@gmail.com

I've found that seaplane forums is great organization, that has world wide following already and they don't ask for a bunch of personal information.

We are in a joint venture now with www.seaplaneforum.com. Your right, great guys over there and very ambitious about our profession.

At this time we are working towards joining up with ALPA as well....the possibilities at this point are endless really but we need to get more guys on board. The pilots statistical information about their experience is absolutely crucial to our success. Where the Association succeeds, the pilots succeed, the operators succeed.....everybody wins!

If you do not want your name attached, no problem. Post on this site anonymously if you wish....

Thanks for the nice compliment! Its gotten quite international in its second year...

I do support DareDevils endeavor on my forum.

While our relationship is not a full joint venture, we still do invest time and effort into a mutual goal, which is bringing as many seaplane pilots together as possible. DareDevil has his [own] section on my forum, to help raise awareness for his effort. I do think this is a passionate move and I remember all too well starting my own forum with just 5 members and no help/ support from other, bigger sites.

Quite a few of our members believe strongly in providing a dedicated, non competitive, friendly and inviting environment to fellow seaplane pilots, especially newcomers. Seaplanes are a special breed and its worth it to get our industry working hand in hand. God knows we're a minority in the aviation circus with many older guys getting out, taking decades of experience and expertise along for no-one to learn from.

The reason I post is: Every time someone posts about us here, I get busy activating new member profiles, thereby miraculously increasing our Canadian member count. Many AvCanada members joined us last year after someone posted my promo video. I never got around to say thank you! This time I did.

We love to hear from everyone with a passion or interest in seaplanes.

Thanks AvCanada and thanks for the nice endorsement/ comments!
