That looked like great fun! I wonder what the density altitude was?

Cool! They landed there Id say Beef. It probably doesnt look too scary going the other way...flat spot to land and lots of uphill to slow down.
Well, probably still scary but not impossible.

He really plants her down hard on all threes. Is this typical of high density altitude landings?
Re: Impressive 206 take off
High DA:
You don't have the same controalbility you would at sea level.
Planting hard would be more useful in a short field, such as this. If you had the length, a little power and a long flair helps.

I'm guessing they really want to make sure they're on the runway firmly before that ridge/hill thing there. Looks pretty hardcore to me.
I don't love that long low approach but I can see the purpose in it to come in flat at a height similar to the road they want to land on.
I could not tell if they did this but pulling the power and raising the flaps once you're close to or on the surface might bring it down hard and help you stay down..

Beef,
If you want to land short chopping the power and riding 'behind the power curve' (flat low approach)will decrease your landing roll, but you are pretty committed to that landing.
Raising the flaps allows full weight on the mains for maximum braking.

It looked like they were coming in very flat. I would think they were well behind the power curve to do it. With that hill in front of them an overshoot might not be possible. Thoughts on that?
Edit: Just re watched it again. Short final is not as flat as I was thinking. I do think with that hill you're very committed to landing there.

Re: Impressive 206 take off
I'm not criticizing, because I've never flown a 206, or been anywhere near such a sweet, snaking strip, but is there a bad habit showing at rotation at 31 seconds?
Not trying to sound like a container for feminine wash.....that's a hell of a strip! Not critiquing, just purely curious if anyone else is seeing what I am there, or if I'm wrong entirely.

Naw....he was telling the guy that when they got down he was going to make him into a real pilot by watching 47 hours of CS flying a pitts..You think CS was going "right rudderrightrudder!"?
