Canjet leaves Hamilton - Westjet leaves London

Post by loopy »

I guess the rumour is true. Canjet is pulling out of Hamilton in July. Westjet is leaving Windsor later this year.

AC Jazz is going to begin service out of Hamilton to Ottowa and Montreal with RJ's.

Here is the Toronto Star article:

had to happen the city there was way to overserved with wrong type of aircraft. Of course it took corporate espionage for westjet to figure that out.

YHM is a city that cannot support short-haul flights on jets (120+ seats). Air Canada should actually do quite well with CR7's between YUL/YOW and YHM as they have a seating capacity better suited to market demand. Hamilton will, however, support medium and long hauls flights.. Canjet obviously didn't have the network to support such flights.
