Keeping the ball rolling
So if you want to let the politicians know that letting foreign pilots fly for Canadian companies isn't alright with us but didn't know who to contact here's a list.
Everyone politically responsible in some way for what is happening with foreign pilots is detailed below. I have listed who they are and what they are responsible for. Email addresses are at the bottom of the list for ease of adding them an email. I would think that if you spam all of these addresses in one shot, they may end up in a junk folder.
Some of them are French only so maybe someone who is more bilingual than I am can provide some sort of letter to go out in French.
PM Stephen Harper
Parliamentary secretary to the PM Dean Del Mastro
Minister of State and Chief Government Whip Gordon O'Connor

Re: Keeping the ball rolling
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have met with Alexandre Boulerice several times, because he is the MP to several of my Air Transat colleagues. He had accepted to meet them over this issue when they wrote to him to ask for help.
When they obtained an appointment to meet with Mr Boulerice, they asked me to come with them since I had a good understanding of the problem.
Mr Boulerice is the official opposition critic for Labor, so this is right down his line.
He is so far the only MP to have raised the TFWP issue in the House as it pertains to foreign pilots. He did not do it on the floor of the House to score public points and receive an evasive reply, but asked his questions in writing to the Government, in order to get a serious reply. And he did get his replies. He asked a long question which was put to the Immigration Minister and to the Labor Minister.
Here are the questions he asked and the replies he received:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/105 ... 202013.pdf
I met again with Mr Boulerice the day before yesterday with another one of my colleagues from his riding who had been laid off by Air Transat last fall, to update him on the situation.
He is willing to help. Anyone who wants to write to him to explain how they think the TFWP is wrong as it pertains to the pilot profession will find a sympathetic ear in Mr Boulerice, I can assure you.
Look at the replies the two ministers wrote to him, and if you think they were wrong, misleading or evasive, let Mr Boulerice know.
He is a down to earth guy who really understands the problem.
Gilles

Re: Keeping the ball rolling
I emailed a general info email to the Canada Labour Congress and received a reply. I would encourage others to contact them as well. The more people we have informed about this issue the better.

Re: Keeping the ball rolling
Thanks for the info, I've sent a bunch of them emails explaining
how the economy benefits from the extra work Sunwing provides
to a lot of other facets of the industry. Not to mention additional
tax revenue generated.
Great idea!!
Keep up the good work.
