David Clark Pro X

Post by flyinhigh »

Yo,

Looking to finally upgrade my 13.4 after 14 years. I've been eyeing up the pro X, however I'm a little sceptical as we operate everything from jets to turbo props (props being louder). Anyone here using this headset? If so what aircraft are you flying and how do you like it?

Thanks,

Fantastic headset! Clear sound and light weight. Works very well in the Boeing 737. However it would not be as effective as your 13.4 in noiser aircraft. I feel the Bose A20 or David Clark H10-13X would be a better headset for turbo props.

The DC Pro X does come with a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee.

Got it for the CRJ-200. Used it in the RJ, Dash 8 and a C-172. It is very quiet in all 3. Maybe too quiet in the RJ. The Bluetooth is nice as well. Has a weird hiss when the Bluetooth starts but isn't noticed when listening to music or whatever. It is well worth the money in my opinion.

FWIW, I have a DC 13.4, Bose QC15/ufly and my old light speed 20XL in addition to the pro x.

Boss uses them in a C208B.

Said they are great, but they have a weird whistle when the overhead vents are open and blowing down over the set.

Big and clunky though, I am hoping to go with over the ear, and not cup over the ear.

I'm all about the Bose QC15 / ufly. I plug them into my iPhone during long trips for tunes and the sound is amazing. The noise reduction is so good that my boss wears them with 1 headphone on the side of his head during takeoff so he doesn't miss any strange noises prior to V1.

Sennheiser S1's are the best IMO. I've tried the Zulus, Bose, and X11's.

In fairness though... Have not tried the DCPX
