Flight Plan Go

Post by Arctic.West »

I have heard some positive things regarding FltPlan Go,

Just wondering if anyone can chime in with any actual usage experiences with Fllight Plan Go? and if so, which specific device were you using it on?

Has anyone had any major hiccups with it or lack of functionality that you were hoping for/had on foreflight?

Looking for device specific replies as I am trying to figure out which current device would work the best with it. I seem to find a fair few people mentioning it positively, but nothing ever specific, and never mentioning what tablet is being used.

Thanks for any and all replies.
Regards.

I've used FltPlanGo on both the Nexus 7 (first generation) and the Nexus 5. I hear the second generation Nexus 7 is a bit faster, which would address the only complaint I have about it. The screen on the Nexus 5 is a little small at times, so i'd really recommend going to a tablet for flight-following software.

Performance across android devices won't vary much... It's mostly tied to the processing power in the tablet. Buy a faster tablet, you'll get faster performance. The Nexus 7 is excellent bang-for-the-buck value.

The only thing i've found missing from FltPLanGo is that the CFS content isn't 100%. Smaller airports, and grass airports, didn't make it in.

As for usability, I have no issues that I can't attribute to my inexperience with the software. It does everything well enough, I just need to learn how to use it better.

I use it

Ipad, no sim card in it
Gps is very accurate,
So far no major issues,

Uses up lots of space if you download all maps
Lots of little tools, helps out quite a bit
