Re: Missing Caravan
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/thunder-bay/missing-plane-search-ends-1.6768639 The article, as written, leads one to believe that one or more of the pilots, may have survived the accident. But succumbed with the delay in being located. It should be mandatory that all commercial air raft have on boar...

Re: Missing Caravan
Would this aircraft not be ADS-B equipped?
At the very least the company should have tracking resources in board?
Hope the outcome is good.

Re: TC MEDICAL EXTENSIONS COVID 19
So, TC has advised that no new medical exams are to be performed until later and all medicals are good til Aug. 1. Great, except I am over 60 and fly commercially on floats. After 6 months, I don't renew my CAT 1 medical but revert to a private endorsement. I need to do my medical in April to renew...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
The good thing for the AME's is that is a seller's market so they will do just fine. Looking at the RFP it's by no means a guaranteed award to EIC for any of the parts of it. There are some very big players in the water bombing business with decades of experience. The old AC hangar always has room ...

Alkan Air instructor employment ad
Any idea what this might pay. I am thinking at least 600/day 20 days per month = 12k per month. Seems like allot of duties for an instuctor. Maybe those days that you wash and clean the mighty 172 are time free from duty days. Probably ties up 5 of your 20 days. Still not bad..15 days @ 600/day. 9K/...

Signing bonus opportunities?
Are any of the smaller operators starting to pay a signing bonus instead of asking for a bond. Today I read an ad from North Wright Air. It would appear they are getting a little desperate for pilots..maybe I read the ad in the wrong tone.. Times are a changing time for the pilots to control the con...

They should be held accountable for either allowing a culture of intimidation in their company, or just plain incompetence. This young pilot is gone forever, these people should be tried in court and if convicted put in jail forever. . .. Also --- I've never read any calls for criminal justice in r...

Re: Airbus C295W water bomber
It does sound like it would make the aircraft more utilitarian. I am not sure how many Buffalo replacement aircraft we are going to buy, but having these stationed across the country does make sense. It would be another role the aircraft could do. Is the Dash 8-400 being considered for the Buffalo r...

Pilots leave for other reasons than money - as you can see in this conversation on the air. St. Louis approach: "United 123 best forward speed to the marker, you're number one." United 123 (male voice): "Roger, balls to the wall." St. Louis approach: "American 4321, you're number two behind a United...

I wonder if fatigue and a duty day will play into the process. It was said in some reports they were to fly back to Canada the next day.

Maybe each province needs to have a FSS with wannabe controllers. High Level Alberta is right up there with the above

Re: WestJet announces Whitehorse
Todays air traveler expects to pay for meals, or bring your own lunch and drinks. The major airlines have trained the traveler to pay. The fact that AN serves a "warm cookie" does not justify an extra 100 bucks for passage. I am hearing via the grapevine that the "warm cookies" are coming to an end ...

Re: Does KD Air stand for Kraft Dinner?
Here is my guess/take on the job offer. The area of employment is known as a retirement haven. I suspect they have a pool of pilots that are 55+ of age, semi - retired, that they are hoping to draw on. To a semi-retired old northern bush pilot with-out a pension from 35+ years of flogging T/O's and ...
